what the Bible says about these questions, and rest assured we can fully know the answers
to these questions!
Q: What actually happens after this present life?
Many different opinions arise about what happens after this life is over. Some say that's
it, and there is no more; some say we live another life on this earth again; but God's Word
tells us an accurate and clear picture of what really happens. We can trust God's Word in
the KJV BIble because it is directly from God, not man. "All scripture is given by inspiration
of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" {2 Timothy 3:16}. We can trust in the Creator of man to tell us what exactly
the reality of our situation is. God says that "...it is appointed unto men once to die, but after
this the judgment" {Hebrews 9:27}. So after this life, there will be something! A judgment, a determination of something. The next question to ask then is what is this judgment on? It is
the most important question you will ever have to answer, the question of where your eternal
life after this present one will be.
Q: Does Heaven and Hell really exist?
Almost everyone has at least heard of the terms Heaven and Hell. Heaven has the positive connotation, and of course, Hell the negative. But some don't believe in places called Heaven and Hell, which is very unfortunate for them. God is here to tell us that these places are REAL, and do exist, just as much as any place on earth exists. The only difference is, they are the eternal abodes. The beginning of God's Word tells us that God created Heaven: "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth" {Genesis 1:1}. Heaven is where God dwells, and where He wants each man to dwell with Him after this present life. God also created Hell for Satan and his following angels {Isaiah 14:15}. It's a comforting thought to know that God did not create Hell for mankind; however, those who reject God's requirement to go to Heaven will have no choice but to go to Hell. There is no other options unfortunately. Therefore, we come to the final question of what is God's requirement for man to be in Heaven after this life? It is the most important answer you will ever find, and it's found in God's Son, Jesus Christ.
Q: How can I know the way to Heaven?
Like with all the questions of this life, the answer is found directly from God, in the Bible. We already know that their is a requirement to meet in order to be in Heaven with God. This requirement is simply to be cleansed and justified from all sin.
Sin is what leads a man directly to the pits of Hell; we don't have to do anything to go to Hell, our sin nature leads us directly there. NOBODY is without sin, only God is sinless. "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one... For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" {Romans 3:10, 23}.
The first step in knowing how to go to Heaven is to understand that you are sinner, imperfect before God's eyes, and that this sin is condemning you to an eternity separated from God in Hell: "For the wages of sin is death..." {Romans 6:23a}.
God makes it very clear that a change must take place, a rebirth, not
physically, but spiritually. "Jesus answered and said unto him,
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again,
he cannot see the kingdom of God" {John 3:3}. This rebirth is
spiritual, it starts with a change of heart, which leads to a change of
mind, then to a change of action.
Knowing that our sin condemns us, how can we be cleansed from our sin?
Only by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. God's requirement for us to go to Heaven
was that His Son, Jesus Christ, would go to earth, live a sinless life, and die as the
Sacrifice for the sins of mankind. "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that,
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" {Romans 5:8}.
So does this mean that every man just has Heaven given to him or her? No, because God requires us to have faith in Jesus Christ and what He has done for us. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast" {Ephesians 2:8-9}. God extended grace to mankind, a free gift, that we might be saved if we have faith in Jesus Christ as our Saviour. There is NOTHING in our own power that we can do to earn Heaven or God's approval; God requires just simple faith in what Christ has done for us.
One of the most well known verses in the Bible can show us how much God loves us, how much He has done for us, and how much He wants us to accept Him: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" {John 3:16}.
Simply believe fully in your heart that Jesus came to earth, lived a perfect life, gave His life on the cross of Calvary for your sins, and was risen from the grave, so that you could have life with God some day. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved" {Romans 10:9}.
God simply wants us to call to Him, ask Him for salvation, understanding why you need to be saved, and the only way to be saved in Jesus Christ. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" {Romans 10:13}. It's that simple! You can trust in Jesus today to be your Saviour and have full confidence that after this life is finished, you will be in Heaven with God.
God has given us the assurance and security to know that when we call upon Him to be saved, we can know at that time and thereafter that we are safe in His hands and always will have a heavenly home. "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God" {1 John 5:13}.
